1921 Quarter, CACG MS65
Here is a 1921 Standing Liberty Quarter in MS65. As with all 1921 US Coins, this is a reduced mintage better date for the series. In the CPG price guide as of 1/25, it lists for $2850 in MS64, $3200 in MS65, and jumps up to $4950 in MS66. Hence 65 represents a value spot with little increase from 64 but to get a 66 you pay more than 50% more. CAC/CACG have stickered/certified 20 in 65, but this is the only one in a graded CACG holder so far. This coin is gorgeous and funky all at the same time. SLQ's that sat in manilla envelopes or old albums for decades have this funky kind of toning exhibited on this example. There is some fiery orange with intermingled dark grey, crimson and deep navy toning with bursting luster under the light worthy of a 65 grade. The head is almost full, with a leetle bit more definition, it would be FH designation and triple the price. Importantly, this kind of look means this example was not messed with by its keepers in the past.
