1814 Half, E/A PCGS XF45
$2,450.00Price
This is the E/A variety, Overton 108a. It is known as E/A because the E in STATES on the reverse is punched over an A - they did not really know how to spell back in 1814 LOL. Many of these are weakly struck where many details at a given grade are subdued. This particular example is better struck than most with some weakness on stars 9-13 (normal) on the obverse, and the right wing and head of the eagle on the reverse. But still better than most of this variety and hard to find this way. As usual for an unmessed with 45, it has a rich patina with hints of aquamarine and amber with underlying luster exhibited under the light.
